Echogenic Foci
Huh... ever heard of that one? Well the nurse called me yesterday and told me that the Dr found it on the heart when she looked at the sono. I'm like what is it called again??? I guess it is a calcium deposit on the heart. The nurse told me not to worry about it. She said that most times it goes away but that they needed to let me know. I had turned down some testing for the baby on specific was called an AFP 4 screening. It tests for Down Syndrome and some other Neuro tubal things. She wanted to know if I wanted to go ahead and take it now. It is tested by drawing blood. I told them sure. I go on Thur to have the blood work done. Of course I was extremely worried and expected to drive myself crazy once I got on the Internet to look it up. Funny for the first time the Internet actually relieved me. It said this is a very common thing and that it usually goes away especially if the mom is under 35. I am confident that everything will be OK. Even if she is born with something we will deal with it. I do pray thought that she is just perfect!!

It's a Girl...

Well we had our appointment today to determine whether the baby is a girl or a boy. Sorry we didn't keep you posted this week, but Em had a rough week this week with a cold.
Anyway, Em let Austin stay home from school today so he could go see the sonogram . It's a good thing because he ended up running a 102 temperature and Em's ended up taking him to the doctor. I pray it's not the flu.
Anyway, Em and Kaylee are doing great. Yes I said Kaylee... We're so excited we are having a GIRL! Keep praying for Em and the baby. We are blessed to have such great friends and family!
Keep Em and Kaylee in their prayers.
Oh we have a DVD of the sono. I'll try to get some of it uploaded to YouTube so we can share the moment.
Until next time!

Here is the sono of Em's Sonogram on 1/23/2009.

17 weeks
OK so I guess I didn't post on Friday like I said I was....sorry. So I will be 17 weeks tomorrow! I went to see Dr Flowers last Friday. She is so awesome! I pulled out this list of questions and she just sat there and listened and didn't act like she was in a rush. Even though she was like an hour behind. She told me to enjoy my pregnancy and that they would make sure everything went well. That was very reassuring to hear. She switched me from the Heparin to Levenox. The good thing is that I only have to do one injection a day. The bad news is that it is a lot more expensive and the needle is like twice as long and twice as thick as my other one.
We have a sono next Friday the 23rd. She told me to bring Austin with us. I was excited to tell him he got to go because I knew he would think that was cool. So I pick him up at school and I said.. hey AJ the Dr wants you to come when we do the sono so you can see the baby and find out what we are having.... the reaction I got was surprising.. He made this awful noise like I had told him something gross and got the shivers.... I was like wait a min... do you know what a sono is? So after I explained that there was no cutting or blood or nakedness going on he was excited to come and see, either that or just excited to get to skip school. So like 9 more days and we will know what we are having!!! So excited!!!

Remember Me??
OK so it has been almost a month since I have blogged... I know I'm a slacker!!!! I go back to the Dr on Friday and hopefully we will get a sono and find out what this baby is. I would like to stop calling it Cletus. I have been feeling good and have not really had any major problems. I am sick of giving myself shots. I'm running out of places to do it so most of the time i am injecting into a spot that is already knotted up. That hurts like crud!!! I have started to have to sleep on my side now.... this is not good. Chris and AJ got me a body pillow for Christmas and that helps a lot but I am a back sleeper. Coco (Austin's Lab) likes it better though because since I am curled up on my side I am not kicking her off the bed as much.
I finally broke down and went to Mimi's Maternity yesterday. Not much luck. All the clothes are either WAY to expensive or just plain ugly. I know my friends and family are getting sick of seeing me in the same old sweat pants but geez it is hard to find clothes. I did find some REALLY cute jeans yesterday.... one problem. Remember how I said the clothes are either WAY to expensive or ugly..... well these were not ugly. ;) if you know what I mean. We will have to keep those a secret!!! Well I guess its not a secret anymore!!! They are way cute though!! OK gonna go now... its almost time for Days.... just kidding.... well not really.
